    • During WWII, Joan worked at Bletchley Park also known as Station X, an estate located in the town of Bletchley, in Buckinghamshire, and, since 1967, part of Milton Keynes, England. During World War II, Bletchley Park was the location of the United Kingdom's main codebreaking establishment where codes and ciphers of several Axis countries were deciphered, most importantly those of the German Enigma and Lorenz machines.
